There are more than 200 species of those active, bushy-tailed rodents we call squirrels.
Squirrels I see in my yard or using my fence as a trail to the trees do not usually appear as a scurry. Unlike the murder of three crows that have taken up residence in a tree next door, most of the time I cannot tell if more than two squirrels in the yard are at the same time are a drey or not.
So then, of what purpose is a scurry of squirrels in my back yard?
Then, there is the removed grass showing attempts to recover their buried food supply.
So, how important is having an unblemished yard to me?
Except riding of dandelions and other weeds of the same character, I am not over obsessive at all.
So they like crows, squirrels do have a purpose in my yard.
As my octogenarianism continues, my mind wanders as I wonder.
Or could it be that my mind wonders as I wander?
It is a fact that I have opinions – or is it?
