Prompts

It is a fact that I have opinions – or is it?
blog post

Writer’s Digest has a free publication A year of Writing Prompts. I get my own ideas at random, but seldom get to the keyboard in time to make a start document. I sincerely do not think octogenarianism has anything to do with it. Even before I started writing, ideas popped into the grey matter.

I downloaded the document and looked at the prompt for today, September 20. “M&Ms: “Melt in your mouth, not in your hands.” Miller Lite: “Tastes great, less filling.” Describe yourself (or your writing) in 10 words or fewer.

Not a real challenge I told myself.

Me: octogenarian, Christian, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, veteran, uncle, cousin.

Writing: As my octogenarianism continues, my writing genre` is unpredictably undefined.

Paraphrasing Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens), 1Neither did I take the time use a valid reference to verify this. “I would have made this shorter, but I didn’t take the time.”

With 365 prompts in the publication, do I expect to use one every day of this year or next?

Nah!

As my octogenarianism continues, my mind wanders as I wonder.
Or could it be that my mind wonders as I wander?
